disturbing connection

lats night i was jarred awake by a connection from someone. it was weird. usually a connection is solicited. this one wasn't. probably someone just scanning random ip addresses looking for a live ping.

a connection is kind of like a dream but it's much more vivid and real. a dream is surreal in that people and places aren't real and/or they can change in an instant. backgrounds and peripherals aren't always clear. a connection has people and places that don't change like that (unless the person you're connected to makes them change). it's almost like watching a high definition video.

the connection i got last night that woke me up was someone having trouble on one of the space stations. obviously i don't know which one but it seemed strange to me that a volunteer would be on a space station. whoever sent him or her up there must know they're a volunteer. and as such maybe they weren't a volunteer. i'll have to ask around about this one.
anyway, the person seemed to be struggling and there was no one else in view.

me

i'm a full volunteer 'cause i had to. i'm a techno geek and when i'm offered something like that for free i have to take it. i'm starting this blog to try and find out what happens to me when i'm out of it.
