back to normal

alex left yesterday. i can finally relax. don't get me wrong, i liked having him here to visit but you know how it is, there's no time to relax.

i got the straight to satellite device working after a couple of tweaks. it works great! i'm going to make a couple of more for other people.

trish taught alex how to place images in someones mind. he picked it up a lot faster than i did. trish says it was because i was concentrating too hard.

other than some security anomalies this past week it was pretty uneventful. now i've got a lot of work to catch up on. paying clients wanting work done on time.

alex is visiting

i met alex at the airport last night and brought him to my place to drop his stuff off. he seems a genuinely nice guy. you can never really tell by blogs and e-mail what someone is really like.

we went downtown for a bit and had coffee out on the patio. the weather is so nice. i think it's the start of patio season. alex doesn't know what patio season is. in la it's always patio season.
we met clip and trish and chatted about all kinds of stuff. mostly we chatted about the differences between new york and los angeles.
he seems to think there's more security here. more aerial drone surveillance. clip, trish and i agreed we hardly notice them. unless there are more than one or two in a specific location we're oblivious to them.
"and that's what they want!" clip shouted.
i rolled my eyes and alex partially agreed.

anyway, the next week should be pretty busy showing my guest around town and going out and doing things.
tomorrow i'll hook up his cid to a straight to satellite device and we can take separate buses to test it. i'm pretty excited about it.

a great weekend!

what a great weekend this was. i got all kinds of work done. i got all the scanning done for my newest client, i finished the straight to satellite device for alex, and i did a cid mod, one that i had never done before and it worked.

i also stayed in saturday night and practiced placing images in trish's mind. i would place a particular image in her mind and she would do the exact same thing back to me to show me i had done it.
it's so weird. it's like hacking into someones mind. you scan their cid for their connection map and place an image at that point in the cid. you could have fun with this with unsuspecting recipients.
this lead to trish showing me more of what's possible. she placed images in places my mind that seemed to take over my thoughts. i seem to have lost all consciousness except for what she was doing to me. it only lasted a minute or two but it felt like it lasted an hour. it was amazing! it was so vivid and so surreal.

i went over to clip's place yesterday. he's getting more paranoid with the heightened security. it doesn't seem to be letting up and he's at a point where he's knows something big is going to happen.
he thinks if he gets stopped by security he'll go straight to detention for sure and he doesn't want that. i don't blame him but i think he's being over cautious.

i'm looking forward to alex coming in a couple of days. i really want to test the straight to satellite device with someone else using one. two way communication without connection to a local antenna would be so cool.

it happened again

i woke up this morning none the worse for wear thankfully. last time i was hurt pretty bad. i wasn't with anyone and i woke up this morning at my regular time and when i left to go get coffee there were several security guards carrying conventional weapons hanging around the front of my building. security has been high for some time now but they're hanging around right out front.


i've got a lot of work to do today. my newest client has asked me to scan several new servers and delete latent io this weekend. they're paying me extra to get it done by monday.
i'll be doing a cid mod tomorrow and finishing alex's straight to satellite device so it's ready when he gets here next week. so doing some scanning and getting paid for it will work out nice as i will be home all weekend anyway.

clip's decided that he believes there is something big afoot. all the security and extra drones flying above the streets for the past couple of weeks is not for nothing. he's thinks that the powers that be know there's something afoot but don't know for sure what it is. he thinks they're just being extra cautious on all fronts in the event that something does happen. clip thinks it has something to do with an unreported apprehension and interrogation of the 'white guys' that attacked the office of terrorism countermeasures and the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance service (isrs).

i did it!

i placed an image in trish's mind. like i said before i can't tell if i actually did it. i just know because she told me i did. that's so cool!
i think when i was trying before i was concentrating too much. concentrating on the process.



security is still high. i actually saw security use a few (focused energy weapon) for the first time. they used a sound gun to ward off some drunks causing trouble. it was kind of cool to see how they did it. lots of verbal warnings followed by a formation of about 4 or 5 security personnel pointing a sound gun at the drunks. the drunks turned and left immediately. i didn't want to hang around to see if the drunks would come back and i was late to meet clip at his place. he doesn't go out much when security is high.

alex will visit

i've invited alex out to new york to visit. he'll get a straight to satellite device. it's partly because he wants one and partly because i need a second device somewhere out there to test it. thanks alex.
i did a cid mod yesterday and (maybe coincidentally) the client asked if i knew of anything that did something like the straight to satellite device does. i said 'no' but i'm keeping his name on record for the future.

he'll get to meet clip too. they both agree with the recent elevation in, and strange behaviour of security there's something afoot. security alert status issued by the government is above medium but not high. it has been for at least a week now.

i think i'm getting it

i've been trying to learn how to place images into the different centers in peoples minds like trish can. it's not easy but i think i get it.
normally when a volunteer connects with another volunteer there's an exchange of information. volunteer one requests a connection and gets a 'yes' or 'no' answer for the request from volunteer two. then there's usually a 'conversation' that takes place through the volunteer's thought processes.
placing an image or feeling in some one's brain is a bit different. it's one way. you have no way of knowing if the connection was received. other than physically looking at the person.
i think that's why it's been so difficult for me to grasp.
i really like her and if i were more paranoid i'd think she was making me like her by hacking my brain. (because i just said that does it make me more paranoid?)

i've got my straight to satellite connection device working. it's really cool. connections seem faster. what's the difference between 1ms and 5ms?

security is still kind of high from the weekend. i'm waiting to find out what clip thinks is going on. he usually tells me what he thinks then finds out what floating around the net. he hasn't said anything yet.

this new client of mine has some really old, really weird stuff sitting on some old servers. i've been busy with work for them deleting all kinds of junk io. every once in a while i'll look at some of it. weird.
